KRGS Doors help create community-focused centre

This new multi-purpose centre will see the creation of a community-focused centre, library and art gallery at the Granville Memorial Park site. The large footprint including 1000sqm Library with back of house, storage and offices, 1000sqm Art Gallery and multipurpose arts spaces, 1500sqm Community Centre including a large hall and multipurpose rooms, youth facilities, commercial kitchen, new pool entry including café and kiosk areas, storage and amenities facilities, multi-sports courts and playground.

Mayor Greg Cummings said “We are very excited about moving through to the construction phase of this vitally important project for the community. “This facility will be the centrepiece of the Council’s community infrastructure in the area and will serve a large footprint due to its ease of access through public transport and central location. “Council expect and will encourage enthusiastic use of the facility by the community as there is much to offer residents and community groups, including:

• Library (1000sqm) and back of house, storage and offices
• Art Gallery (1000sqm) and multipurpose arts spaces
• Community Centre including a large hall (1500sqm) and multipurpose rooms, youth facilities, commercial kitchen
• New pool entry including café and kiosk areas, storage and amenities facilities
• Multi-sports courts (1.5) and playground

“The opportunity that this facility affords for positive and creative community interaction can’t be underestimated. I think our community deserves state-of-the-art community spaces, and I confidently anticipate that this centre will be well received and utilised by the people of Cumberland,” Mayor Cummings said.

KRGS Doors has installed Series II Aluminium Roller Shutters Powder coated in White and Dark Bronze internally, along with KRGS Steel Shutters on the loading dock and facilities areas.

Construction is expected to be completed in 2020. The project is jointly funded by the NSW Government and Cumberland Council.
